| Adam Couper Co-Writer and ‘Tom’
Adam has been putting pen to paper and fingers to keyboard for nearly thirty years, most visibly as the head-writer for the ABC political satire BACKBERNER. He has written critically acclaimed plays including MORTAL and BUTTERFLIES OVER THE SEA OF JAPAN. He was commissioned by the Queensland Arts Council to write A NIGHT AT THE PARADISE for their regional touring program, and his musical NOBODY DOES IT LIKE ME ran at the Tivoli for two years. His play BEAUTIFUL ONE DAY was short-listed for the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award. He contributed a number of comic pieces for the Courier Mail and spent two years as a political speechwriter. After co-writing GIRL CLOCK, he is working again with Jennifer Ussi developing two more films. He is also involved in the development of a children’s TV series ZAC & MARDY. Adam has recently been asked to head up a project by the MEAA to write a series of Queensland Union Stories, and with two books nearing completion, it’s not surprising his fingers get sore.
